Fort Belknap Wildlife

Over the summer, I spent some time at the Fort Belknap Indian Community (FBIC) doing research with my roommate. We would survey prairie dog colonies for burrowing owls and mountain plovers. So, I decided to share some pictures I took of some of the wildlife, mostly birds, that we saw.

A burrowing owl giving us an alarm call because we were probably getting too close to its nest.

A eared grebe swimming in the water.

 A fledgling American avocet.

A western meadowlark perched on some sagebrush with the Little Rocky Mountains in the background.
